Introduction to Potty Training

Bekah is now 20 months and we are starting the fun process of potty training. After letting her play around the potty and sit on it we got some potty books and a potty movie. Bekah really likes them and daddy thinks that they are silly. This last week I started letting her run around with no diaper and encouraging her to sit on the potty. This is the first time she tried to go potty. Nothing yet but we will keep trying.


Kim G. suggested giving her lots of snacks to make her thirsty and then lots of fluid. So far Cheetos are her downfall. I had never given Bekah juice but did try it to see if she would drink more fluid. That back fired since she doesn't like juice. Just milk and water for now, which is fine with me. We also give her M & M's every time she sits on the potty. She sits down, looks at me and askes for a nummy num. Yesterday we had lots of family over for Father's Day. The kids really enjoyed giving Bekah M & M's. Once, Bekah ran to her potty, sat down and grabbed Grandmom's pants as she was walking by and asked for an M & M. It was so cute.


Bekah is now starting to "get" it a little. A few times she runs over to the potty and goes all by herself. She still is having lots of accidents though. Yesterday she was in the sandbox playing with Jessie and Bekah peed. I scooped out the wet sand to throw it away in the garabage. Due to my pregnancy and lack of brain cells or something, I walked straight over to the icechest and started pouring the sand in there. I quickly realized my mistake and got most of the sand out. Whoops! Bekah also had fun taking off her diaper in her bed and painting everything with poop. That is an experience I would rather not repeat. :o)


Well, I hope she is potty trained soon and I definitely hope it is before the baby comes.

A Little Nurse

Bekah loves listening to hearts on the stethescope. She sits there so intently and serious, just listening quietly. Mommy hopes she will want to be a nurse just like mommy.

A New Tea Set

I love my little girl. She is my heart.

Nana Laurie found a cute little table and chair which she painted beautifully for Bekah. She also brought a little tea set. Bekah loves to play with it.

After Bekah pours everyone's tea, she drinks her tea out of the spout.

Daddy finished his coffee and sat his cup down. Bekah picked it up and had fun pretending to drink. So cute!!







A few days later Bekah climbed up on daddy and tried so hard to get his pepsi. She had her mouth on the top of the cup and tried and tried to somehow get a drop of pepsi out of the cup. She drooled all down the cup. So funny.

We are teaching Bekah to care for a baby. Daddy wrapped up her dolly in a blanket I had made. She took her dolly into the tent, dropped it and then kneeled on it. She picked her up and was swinging her around. Then she danced her dolly around and around. We are still working on how to hold and take care of a baby.



This wonderful play tent has a doorbell that goes ding-dong and then will play a song when pressed again. I won't be too sad when those batteries die. Bekah does really enjoy it however.

Bekah watched the Sound of Music for the first time. Chris was home sick with a fever and we all just stayed home and hung out together. Bekah loved the songs and clapped and danced to them. It was so cute.



Bekah loves to say hello to the kitty. She is not allowed to touch her since we don't want our kitty abused by an over eager toddler. A few times we have walked in to find Bekah lying right on top of the kitty with all of her extremities lifted off the floor so that her full weight was placed on the kitty. Emma doesn't like that so much.

Four months Pregnant

Mommy's tummy is growing as the baby grows. Is Bekah's tummy growing too?

She tries to be just like mommy.

About two weeks ago my morning sickness got so much better. No more feeling icky all day!!! Now I can just enjoy my pregnancy and my family.
